Risk & AI Disclaimer
This page summarizes, in plain language, the most important things to keep in mind about the analyses, suggestions, and data shown in Cetagon. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Nothing in Cetagon is professional advice.
Cetagon is a planning and analysis tool. It is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, accountant, lawyer, or tax adviser. Anything you see in the Service, rules, critiques, suggestions, back-tests, scenarios, charts, commentary, or AI-generated text, is for general informational and educational use only. It is not personalized investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice and it does not create a fiduciary or advisory relationship between you and us.
Before you act on anything you see in the Service, consult a professional who is licensed in your jurisdiction and who can review your full situation.
AI suggestions can be wrong.
Parts of the Service use third-party large language models (currently Anthropic Claude) to generate suggestions, critiques, and explanations from your inputs. These outputs are produced by a probabilistic statistical model. They can be:
- factually incorrect, out of date, or internally inconsistent;
- biased by the data the model was trained on;
- plausible-sounding but wrong (sometimes called a “hallucination”);
- inappropriate for your specific circumstances, even if reasonable in general.
Treat AI output as a starting point for your own thinking, not as a recommendation. Independently verify any factual claim, calculation, ticker, regulation, or tax outcome before you rely on it.
Cetagon does not place live trades for you.
Cetagon may show alerts, suggested actions, simulated trades, or order-like drafts so you can review the consequences of your own rules. The current Service does not place live orders, withdraw funds, or move assets. If you decide to trade, you must review and submit the order yourself through your broker. Marking an alert as handled or executed in Cetagon is a recordkeeping action unless the product expressly says otherwise.
Investing involves risk, including loss of principal.
- Past performance is not indicative of future results. Any historical chart, back-test, or scenario shown in the Service describes how a hypothetical or historical strategy might have performed; the future may look very different.
- You can lose money. All investing carries risk of loss, including the loss of the principal you invest. Some strategies (including those involving leverage, options, concentrated positions, or illiquid assets) can lose more than the original investment.
- Markets move suddenly. Volatility, concentration, liquidity, currency, interest-rate, credit, geopolitical, and tax risks can all hurt outcomes quickly.
- Shorter holding periods can magnify friction. Swing trading and other higher-turnover strategies can involve more frequent losses, taxes, spreads, slippage, missed fills, and emotional pressure than a long-term buy-and-hold plan.
Back-tests are hypothetical.
Back-tests and scenario analyses in the Service are constructed from historical data. They have well-known limitations:
- Hypothetical, not actual. No real trades were placed and no investor actually held the depicted portfolio.
- Look-ahead and survivorship bias. Historical universes may exclude delisted, bankrupt, or merged companies; some data points may not have been knowable at the simulated time.
- Costs not fully modeled. Real-world commissions, bid-ask spreads, slippage, financing costs, borrow fees, taxes, dividend timing, and corporate actions are simplified or omitted.
- Over-fitting. Rules that perform well on the past may have been unconsciously tuned to it, and may underperform in the future.
Use back-tests to compare approaches and stress-test ideas, not as a forecast.
Market data may be delayed or wrong.
The Service displays market data and other third-party information that may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We do not warrant that prices, fundamentals, news, ratings, or other vendor data are correct or up to date, and we are not responsible for losses that result from relying on them.
Tax estimates are illustrative.
Any tax-related figures (after-tax returns, harvesting estimates, marginal rates, etc.) are illustrative only, are based on simplified assumptions, and depend on personal details we do not see. They are not tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional in your jurisdiction before taking action.
Geographic eligibility.
Cetagon is currently offered only to residents of the United States and Canada who are at least eighteen (18) years old. If you are accessing the Service from another country or under that age, you must stop using it.
Forward-looking statements.
Some content in the Service may describe expectations, plans, or projections about future events. These “forward-looking statements” involve assumptions and uncertainties; actual results may differ materially. Do not place undue reliance on them.
